About The Study Cafe
I love meeting friends at coffee shops! If you have found your way here, I hope you find a comfortable seat and plan to stay awhile. The refreshments are free....and good news....the cups don't leave drink rings....but what's up with that any way! I have a devotional book given to me by my mom and it has a coffee ring stain on the cover. It just reminds me of the times that I have spent in quiet reading, enjoying a cup of coffee.
Conversational Theology: "The art of learning deep truths about God and man, in the company of friends, whilst drinking tea and eating cake." Don't know who wrote this.... but thank you for sharing!
Hi! My name is Jamie. Sharing pictures of me are not my favorite thing but I spend quite a bit of time searching the Internet and I feel more comfortable knowing a little more about the person I'm spending time with when I'm reading articles, blogs and websites. Pictures help us to connect. I am a wife, mother, florist, volunteer coordinator for Alliance For Children and a woman of faith. Although life is busy, I spend quite a bit of time at The Study Cafe. It's not that I have everything figured out but I love to share what I'm learning (emphasize is on l e a r n i n g...as in "in progress"). Much of what I've captured here is information that I have gathered from multiple sources and provides a space to gather my thoughts and record what I am learning. If you have stumbled on to this site, you are free to ramble about but in order to avoid any frustration please know that often what I have gathered in this space represents a "landing spot" for my thoughts as I wrestle through my understanding of certain doctrinal ideas or topics. I am a journaler but sometimes a handwritten journal, while I love the binding, the pages and beautiful covers, but become difficult to "add to" my understanding of things....especially as I contrast and compare writings and seek to understand what I think are concluding thoughts against the larger landscape of the context of Scripture. That being said, you don't have to agree with everything posted on this site but I hope that it may challenge you to know what it is that you believe and why. Feel free to drop me a note to say hello and to let me know what you think. I see a lot of unkind remarks on the internet because I think anonymity empowers people. Feel free to be honest about your thoughts and questions but try to be kind. If you honestly cant....that's o.k.....we will cross that coffee table when we come to it.
